This paper, recently released by Oklahoma Assets, explores the critical role of credit in helping Oklahomans maintain financial security and build assets for a prosperous future. 

Oklahoma Assets has released the first in a series of policy briefs on key issues related to expanding economic opportuntiy and financial security for Oklahomans. The brief was authored by David Blatt, Director of Oklahoma Policy Institute and Chair of Oklahoma Assets Program and Policy committee, and reflects input from the Oklahoma Assets steering committee and staff at First Nations Development Institute.

OK Policy's issue brief, More Than Just Getting By, serves as an overview of asset building in Oklahoma. A major segment of the population has few, if any, assets, despite the fact that they are a key element in developing financial security. Policies that build and protect assets can help to provide opportunity and strengthen Oklahoma's middle class.
