McKee to speak at Democrats’ lunch (Norman Transcript)

Kara Joy McKee will speak  Oct. 2 at the Cleveland County Democrats Tyner Cornbread and Beans Lunch at Catering Creations.

McKee is an Oklahoma Policy Institute outreach specialist. She is a native of Norman and an OU graduate. She coordinates the Together Oklahoma coalition. 

 

She has been active for years with the Oklahoma Food Cooperative, Oklahoma Sustainability Network and other community projects, and in 2011, she was honored with the City of Norman’s Human Rights Award. 

Prior to joining OK Policy, McKee was executive director of Kendall Whittier Inc., a Tulsa neighborhood nonprofit, and she currently serves on the KWI board of directors.

Lunch for this event begins at 11:15 a.m., with speakers beginning about noon. Guests can select lunch from Catering Creations’ full-service buffet for $7.50. The meeting is open to the public.
