Health Insurance Marketplace and the Affordable Care Act: Resources and Information

healthcare-viewMajor provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) will begin January 1, 2014. One of the most important provisions is the creation of the new Health Insurance Marketplaces (also known as Exchanges) that will allow uninsured Americans to purchased affordable private commercial health insurance plans. Starting October 1, 2013, Oklahomans will be able to access the Health Insurance Marketplace by visiting www.healthcare.gov or dialing 1-800-318-2596. Oklahomans can also dial the statewide network 2-1-1 or visit www.211Oklahoma.org to get information about the marketplace and find in-person assistance.
