At OK Policy, we’re focused on addressing Oklahoma’s most difficult barriers to opportunity. Making it happen will require Oklahomans from all walks of life to advocate with lawmakers and speak out in their communities for policy change.
On this page, you can find the advocacy campaigns we’re working on right now. The links below will take you to sites with action alerts, talking points, and other resources to help you make a difference.
And if you are looking for even more ways to be involved as an advocate, you can start by connecting with Together Oklahoma (TOK), our statewide grassroots advocacy coalition.
Advocacy Opportunities
Tell lawmakers to oppose attacks on our right to put state questions on the ballot (SB 1027)
The initiative petition is a necessary check on the government's power. However, some lawmakers are trying to restrict this right through SB 1027, which will place unconstitutional and antidemocratic restrictions on the citizen's initiative process. Instead of attacking direct democracy, lawmakers should work with everyday citizens to make better policy that benefits all Oklahomans. Learn more and take action.
Tell lawmakers to oppose tax cuts that benefit the wealthy and risk critical services
Help us protect state revenue for essential services by contacting legislators today! Oklahoma lawmakers are pushing forward bills that would overwhelmingly benefit the wealthiest Oklahomans while harming the fiscal health of the state during economically uncertain times. Learn more and take action.
Tell lawmakers to not further punish Oklahomans without housing
Last year, Oklahoma lawmakers passed a bill to fine and jail people without housing for sleeping on state land. This year, state lawmakers will vote on HB 1764 that would expand the camping ban to municipal and county land. Tell your Senator and Senate leaders not to further punish Oklahomans without housing!
