On October 30, 2015, the Oklahoma Food Security Summit will convene at Tulsa Community College’s Northeast Campus (3727 E. Apache Street, Tulsa, OK 74115). From 8:30am to 5:30pm, national, state, tribal, and local food policy experts and community members will assess conditions leading to food insecurity in Oklahoma; create solutions; and form a pathway to action. Sessions range from the USDA’s Promise Zones to seed saving. You can learn about more of the Summit’s sessions here.
A networking reception featuring tastings with local chefs at the Oklahoma Food Project Photo Gallery will follow through 7pm.
The Summit is coordinated by the Tulsa Food Security Council, which works to build healthier communities through dialogue, education, and collaboration. Attendance is free, and attendees can register here. For more information, contact Katie Plohocky at healthycommunitystore@gmail.com or at (918) 346-3788.
