A study by researchers at Harvard Business School and Duke University found that Americans think the wealth distribution in America should be less unequal, even as they dramatically underestimated the current level of wealth inequality. According to the researchers:
All demographic groups—even those not usually associated with wealth redistribution such as Republicans and the wealthy—desired a more equal distribution of wealth than the status quo.
This six-minute video presents their findings with infographics and narration.

Thank you for making this video. My undergraduate class at Miami University were shocked by the visual representation of wealth disparity in America. Furthermore, the conversation that followed our viewing made obvious that their eyes were opened to an America they failed to fully see.
First of all I’m so sorry college students are being deceived into thinking “wealth” is all about money. Real “riches” in life come in so many forms. Money is only a printed piece of paper or a coin that represents value and allows us to trade what we consider valuable for other things of value in order to live and enjoy life. Real “riches” of breathing, thinking, conversation, confident provision for ourselves, relationship, nature, beauty, creativity – and knowing our mighty sovereign God created each of us and holds our very lives in his loving hands – know no boundaries and no price $$. How disallusioned you are in making this video – trying to discredit fellow Americans in our communities for being productive and enjoying life – and leading others to believe this. Let each person live as he chooses, so prosper with little or much, some fail with little or much. Who are you to determine what “wealth” is and how to give it to people? Are you stepping into the place of God? This hasn’t worked very well for us here in America for about 50 years. Why do you want to encourage more of the same? Really show your wisdom, roll up your sleeves and get do real work, not just standing around bad-mouthing others. You are not part of the solution – you are part of the problem.
