Oklahoma Policy Institute is very pleased to announce that we have hired Tyler Parette as our new Outreach and Operations Associate.
In the newly-created position, Parette’s responsibilities include providing organizational and administrative support to the whole OK Policy team. He will also help to strengthen our coalitions through Together Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Assets Network, as well as facilitating our growing Summer Policy Institute and Research Fellow alumni networks. Parette previously attended the Summer Policy Institute and worked as an OK Policy intern.
“In his time as a Summer Policy Institute student, an OK Policy intern, and now a full-time staffer, Tyler has already contributed a great deal to this organization,” said David Blatt, OK Policy’s Executive Director. “Bringing Tyler on full-time will allow us to keep expanding OK Policy’s events and collaborations with a growing network of students and other partners.”
Parette graduated from Oklahoma Christian University in April 2015 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He has volunteered for two years with Night Light, an organization serving homeless people in Tulsa, and he recently joined the board of United Campus Ministry at the University of Tulsa. His specific policy interests include criminal justice, poverty, and inequality.
“I’m grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of the OK Policy team,” Parette said. “Being a native Oklahoman, I’m aware of the challenges we face, but I look forward to working with OK Policy to develop solutions that work for all Oklahomans.”
Oklahoma Policy Institute is a non-partisan think tank that promotes adequate, fair, and fiscally responsible funding of public services and expanded opportunity for all Oklahomans by providing timely and credible information, analysis, and ideas. Its seven-member staff is based in Tulsa.
Tyler –
Congratulations! Are you still going to be staffing the Trump booth at the Tulsa State Fair? Hope to see you there – I have your copy of “Art of The Deal” to return.
Love,
Lem
