Oklahoma voters will head to the polls for a statewide election on August 25, 2026. Here’s an overview of what’s on the ballot, and you can find your sample ballots and polling place through the Oklahoma Election Board’s OK Voter Portal.
State Questions – SQ 844 and SQ 846
All Oklahoma voters, regardless of political party, can vote on the two state questions appearing on the Aug. 25 ballot:
- SQ 844: Amending Certain Tax Revenue Reimbursements. SQ 844 would allow the Legislature to change how it reimburses local schools and communities for certain manufacturing property tax exemptions.

- SQ 846: Voter ID Requirement Amendment. SQ 846 changes the Oklahoma Constitution to require proof of identity for all voting methods; lawmakers are responsible for setting the rules for what counts as proof.

Primary Runoff & Local Elections
Several races from the June primary election will be decided in the Aug. 25 runoff after no candidate received a majority of the vote. These include Republican runoffs for governor, state superintendent, labor commissioner, and insurance commissioner, along with a Democratic runoff for U.S. Senate. There are also runoff elections for several Oklahoma House and Senate seats, as well as county offices in some parts of the state. Only voters registered with those political parties may vote in these races.
In addition, several cities across Oklahoma will hold municipal elections on local offices and ballot measures. Some counties also have local ballot measures or county offices on the ballot, depending on where voters live.

When can I vote in this election?
On Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. You can find your polling place and sample ballot through the OK Voter Portal.
The deadline to request absentee ballots is Monday, Aug. 10. Mailed absentee ballots must be received by your County Election Board no later than 7:00 p.m. on election night. Hand-delivered absentee ballots must be received by your County Election Board no later than the close of business on the Monday before the election.
Early voting will be available at your county’s designated early voting location. A list of early voting locations are available here.
Early voting dates and times are:
- Thursday, August 20 | 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Friday, August 21 | 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, August 22 | 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
