Health Care Enhancement Fund

The Health Care Enhancement Fund was created by HB 1016xx in the 2017-18 second special session. Beginning July 1, 2019, all revenues from the $1 per-pack increase in the cigarette tax passed under HB 1010xx are deposited in the Health Care Enhancement Fund for the purpose of enhancing the health of Oklahomans. Prior to that date, revenues from the cigarette tax increase went to the General Revenue Fund.

The Legislature appropriated $145.6 million from the Health Care Enhancement Fund to the Oklahoma Health Care Authority in FY 2024 (HB 1004X, Sections 90 & 91).
