OK-Policy-email-bannerOklahoma Policy Institute is seeking to hire two highly-qualified individuals to fill positions for a policy analyst and an outreach coordinator.

The policy analyst will conduct research and analysis on a range of policy issues, which may include health care, education, criminal justice, economic opportunity, poverty, and other policy areas. Qualifications include graduate training, 3-5 years’ work or academic experience analyzing fiscal, economic, and/or social policy issues, and familiarity with the Oklahoma policy environment.  This is a full-time position, and preference will be given to candidates located in, or able to relocate to, the Tulsa area.

The outreach coordinator will lead our efforts to bring Oklahomans together in support of a policy agenda that ensures adequate and fair funding of public services and expanded opportunity and economic security for all. The work will involve building and supporting coalitions of organizations and individuals in one or more issue areas, as well as conducting public education and mobilization. Well-qualified candidates will have demonstrable experience managing local or state-level advocacy or policy campaigns and building diverse and effective coalitions and collaborations. Candidates interested in either a full-time or part-time position are encouraged to apply. The position may be based in Tulsa or in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Former Executive Director David Blatt joined OK Policy in 2008 and served as its Executive Director from 2010 to 2019. He previously served as Director of Public Policy for Community Action Project of Tulsa County and as a budget analyst for the Oklahoma State Senate. He has a Ph.D. in political science from Cornell University and a B.A. from the University of Alberta. David has been selected as Political Scientist of the Year by the Oklahoma Political Science Association, Local Social Justice Champion by the Dan Allen Center for Social Justice, and Public Citizen of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers.
