Smarter Ways to Support OK Policy

Qualified Charitable Distribution from your Individual Retirement Account

A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals with an annual required minimum distribution (RMD) to transfer funds from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to a charitable organization, such as OK Policy. This is a smart way to make a tax-free gift because it can be excluded from your gross income but still counts towards your RMD.

For contributions to qualify, transfers must go directly from your IRA to OK Policy and no goods or services may be received in exchange for the gift.

Donor-Advised Fund Distribution

Giving through a donor-advised fund (DAF) is a simple, easy way to support OK Policy. You can make a one-time gift, set up recurring gifts, or even name OK Policy as a successor/benefactor of your DAF. So that we can thank you for your gift, please let us know of your pending distribution.

Gift of Appreciated Stock

We welcome gifts of stock through a partnership with the Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF). Per our current financial practices, we will instruct our broker to sell your donated shares upon receipt of the gift. Due to broker/agent response times, we highly recommend that stock transfers be initiated by December 8. If you’d like to donate a gift of stock, please notify TCF of your intention at (918) 494-8823 or jsisemore@tulsacf.org.

Provide TCF with the following information:

  • Donor name and contact information (for stock receipt)
  • Number of shares being transferred
  • Name of security being transferred (i.e., company name and trading symbol)
  • CUSIP Number

Give the following instructions to your financial representative:

  • DTC # 0901 – The Bank of New York
  • A/C # 016071 – Bank of Oklahoma, Trust Department
  • FFC: #0260-0001132.360, TCF Equity Liquidation Fund

A Legacy Gift / Planned Giving

There are many options for ensuring your hard-earned assets continue to support the causes you care most about through a legacy gift. We would be honored to know if you included the Oklahoma Policy Institute in your will or estate plan and invite you to be a founding member of our legacy society.
