A statewide tour by the Together Oklahoma coalition is working to increase public participation among Oklahomans, including those in the Lawton area.
Kara Joy McKee and Damario Solomon-Simmons, with the Oklahoma Policy Institute, are visiting cities and towns across Oklahoma to invite residents to think about tough issues and solutions that work for busy people, including a session Tuesday in the CETES building of Cameron University, 2800 W. Gore. The lecture and discussion will be offered in a “brown bag lunch” format from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. In addition, McKee and Solomon-Simmons will have a presentation and conversation from 6:30-8 p.m. at Saint John’s Baptist Church, 1619 SW Pennsylvania.
The series of small-group discussions is designed to share information on accessing research-based analysis of public policies and how to put that information together to use to make a difference. The sessions are free and open to the public.
