OK Policy is now hiring for a Data Analyst. The Data Analyst carries out critical data-driven research projects, using the Open Justice Oklahoma database to turn court, prison, and jail administrative records into data that supports efforts to create a more open and equitable justice system. - Resume with at least three professional references.
- A cover letter that includes your interest in the position, a detailed explanation of how your experience meets the qualifications and prepares you for the responsibilities outlined in the job description, a brief description of your current understanding of OK Policy’s mission, any previous involvement you had had with OK Policy, and your salary expectations.
- At least one — maximum of three — sample(s) of your data analysis work using the R statistical programming language. Sample(s) can be any of the following: A class assignment or work assignment (if you have permission to share it); a personal project; a short analysis of a public dataset (for example, one of the datasets available here: https://www.kaggle.com/datasets)
- Each work sample must include:
- A brief write-up summarizing the data source, the goals of the analysis, and the top takeaways from your results;
- An .R or .Rmd file that shows your analysis process, from loading the data to creating any visualizations; and
- The data used for the analysis, with all sensitive data removed, either in a .csv file or a link to the data (if loading from an online source).
