Operations Manager
The Operations Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of OK Policy by overseeing administrative processes, financial management, human resources, and organizational systems. Reporting to the Development Director, this position manages day-to-day operations to support the organization’s mission and strategic goals.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Oversee financial systems and controls, including budgeting, monthly financial accounting, A/R, and A/P. Manage the annual audit & 990 preparation with tax and audit vendors.
- Develop and administer company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices under organization objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
- Direct and administer employee benefit programs, including benefit plan selection, communication and interpretation of benefit plans for staff, employer contributions, employee eligibility and open enrollments, and distribution of annual notifications; negotiate contracts with outside vendors to provide employee services.
Skills / Experience
Essential:
- Minimum two years of experience in finance, human resources, operations, or related fields, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Knowledge of financial management principles and experience with budgeting and accounting processes.
- Proficiency in office software and business application systems, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Knowledge of HR laws and regulations; general experience in all HR concentration areas such as benefits, compensation, workforce planning and employment, employee relations, occupational health, safety and security, strategic management, employee development, and training.
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its forms (including, for example, across race, ethnicity, gender identity, and national origin), its intersectional nature, historical and structural barriers to the advancement of diverse people and communities, and how these factors can operate in the workplace.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to listen deeply, facilitate conversation, build rapport and trust, mediate disputes, and collaborate with diverse constituencies; demonstrated ability to deal with confidential, sensitive, emotionally charged situations with empathy and tact, and respond appropriately;
- Commitment to OK Policy’s mission, goals, and values.
Desirable:
- Experience with Quickbooks Online and non-profit accounting principles.
- Experience with EveryAction or similar email, online fundraising, advocacy, and CRM platforms.
- 3+ years of professional HR experience and related graduate-level coursework in Human Resources Management or Finance and Accounting
- Relevant professional certifications such as PHR, SHRM, CPA, etc.
Working Conditions
OK Policy’s headquarters are in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Staff generally work remotely throughout the state, with some required in-person convenings in the Tulsa and Oklahoma City offices.
- Ability to work during OK Policy’s regular operating hours (8:30 – 5:00, M-F).
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support events.
- Position must reside within Oklahoma and requires in-person presence and travel in and out of state—up to 50% of working time.
- Physical effort/lifting requirements: Up to 25 lbs. for lifting supplies and materials, as needed*.
- Position frequently requires the ability to sit for extended periods*.
- Position requires talking and hearing in person and over the phone*.
- Position requires visual acuity and hand and finger dexterity to operate equipment, read, and use a keyboard*.

Compensation

Salary Range: $50,000 – $55,900 annually (commensurate with experience)
